better to bring your dvd player on a service center they will add chips on your player to read other region. your player is not multi region to read different types of dvds

Why are the labels on DVD’s have region codes where some disks say it can be played on all regions? Same with NTSC,PAL and PAL-SECAM TV sets, cant they make TV sets that can be used anywhere in the world without those specs?

I have not tried this. Sometimes making the player region free voids any kind of warranty. So keep that in mind.

Play-Asia is based in Hong Kong, but don’t worry, they clearly label what region an item is for! However, the PS3 is region free, so you don’t have to worry about region locking anyway.

Your model number is the critical piece of information. Here’s a couple places to look once you have your model number in hand. If you’re lucky, a hack exists for your model.

My aunt in the US gave me a DVD she burned and it contains only some home videos she took. I am in Asia (Region 3). Can I play it on my player without breaking or changing anything?
Likely it will be okay. Most DVD burning software for personal/home use burns region free (Region 0).
